To speak of high-level numismatics and philately in Catalonia, and in the rest of Spain, during the last half century is, inevitably, to speak of Joaquín González i Figueras. 

With a 45-year career forged amidst the allure of historical collections and the gleam of precious metals, González is not just a dealer, but one of the most distinguished and respected figures in a sector he considers his life's work. Born in Barcelona, ​​Joaquín took his first professional steps in 1976 at the philatelic office of his friend SALLAN, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. 

It was there, through many hours of work, that he learned secrets that no book could teach: to feel the history in a coin, to decipher the life of a postmark, and above all, to understand that trust and honesty are the most valuable assets in this business. In the 1980s, already at the helm of his family business, renamed FILARGENT SA, he demonstrated a very personal vision that prioritizes personal and quality service with his clients, beyond the mere commercial relationship. 

He was one of the first in Catalonia to grasp the potential of new technologies when they emerged, launching one of the first websites in the sector for cataloging and selling collectibles. He skillfully balanced the tradition of personal service with the global reach of technology, specializing his firm in high-demand coins, both ancient and modern, as well as classic and modern philately, Spanish, European, and worldwide. However, Joaquín González's true legacy transcends his commercial success. 

Aware that a strong sector needs a united and professional community, he has dedicated a large part of his career to association work. His track record in this area reflects his commitment:

Member of (the Board of Directors of the Gremi FILATELIA Y NUMISMATICA DE BARCELONA AND LATER, PRESIDENT (1995-2002)): Where he promoted the first open days to bring collecting closer to the young public in Barcelona. 

• Secretary General of the Spanish Association of Professional Numismatists (AENP) (2003-2010): From his base in Barcelona, ​​his influence extended nationwide. He worked tirelessly on drafting and promoting a code of best practices that is now a standard in the sector, actively fighting against counterfeiting and illicit trade.
  
  
• Today, at 68, Joaquín González remains a leading figure in the Spanish collecting sector. He is an expert consulted by auction houses and courts, a regular trader at national and international fairs, and, above all, a mentor to new generations of Catalan professionals. His philosophy, as he himself describes it, is simple: His career is not only a biography of business success, but also the testament to a life dedicated to transforming passion into a tangible, historical, and, above all, shared heritage.
  
  
• Member of the National Philatelic and Numismatic Guild, ANFIL (Madrid). Currently, president of the philatelic association of Palma de Mallorca, member of FEBASOFI incorporated into FESOFI at the national level (2020-2025): As president, he strengthened ties with European and world federations, managing to bring the World Philatelic Exhibition to Spain in one of its most memorable editions.
